Cleveland, OH's Own World's Greatest Traditional/Contemporary  Irish, Folk, Bluegrass, Punk Rock Band in the Universe

The American-Irish Band “CRAIC,” named for the Gaelic term meaning interesting banter & good company including music & good drink, takes traditional Irish music and turns it into an energy driven, fist pumping, “in your face” good time. Their sound is truly unique and best described as Irish, with a dash of folk, a smidgen of bluegrass and a pinch of punk rock.  Originating in a south western suburb of Cleveland Ohio, these eight musicians complete with unique backgrounds and influences, joined forces in Oct. 2009 and after two years of hard work have truly made a name for themselves.  Playing a variety of bars, venues, and festival’s on Cleveland’s east and west sides including, Manzo’s Sports and Spirits, Cleats Gateway, Great Lakes Brewing Company, Mullarkey’s Irish Pub, The Beachland Tavern, The Waterloo Arts and Music Fest, The All-American Festival (taking first place) P.J. McIntyre’s Irish Pub and The Phantasy Night Club, they draw a large crowd of devoted fans everywhere they go. They are also currently recognized on ReverbNation.com as Cleveland’s #1 Celtic and Traditional band and are lead by Cleveland’s Best Vocalist, as voted this year in the Cleveland Scene’s “best of 2011”.
The idea for forming the band came about over a friendly game of pool in what is now known as the “CRAIC Cave,” the band’s rehearsal space in Litchfield, OH.  The brainchild of front-man Brett M.Burlison (lead vocals & Bodrhan) and Tim “The Brunswick Legend” Clausing (acoustic 12 string guitar), eventually grew to include the six other members; Nikki Wolfe (tin-whistle, vocals), Mitch Kozub (banjo, vocals), Jason “Gojko” Kollar (bass guitar), Eric “Amazing” Rom (electric guitar, vocals) and Karl Federmann(drums, vocals). Andrea D'Amore (fiddle) (3/2009-5/2012).
Inspired by the sounds of bands like The Pogues, The Mahones, Flogging Molly and the Young Dubliners, CRAIC, both brings a new sound to traditional Irish music and composes truly unique and entertaining originals which will have you up out of your seats and dancing. If you must hear it to believe it, their first EP, “It’s Still New Enough That It’s Forgivable” is available on Amazon.com, Itunes and tracks can be heard on Real Punk Radio’s Paddy O’Punk hour. Celtic Folk Punk Blog from Spain has CRAIC in the running for Best EP of 2011! Critics of the EP admit their anticipation of a full length album and say the band has a traditional line-up, but a sound all their own, in which the banjo truly shines.  And their devoted fans will tell you that their live shows are a pleasure; exciting, entertaining and packed to the gills with people singing along.
Finally, you can follow the success of the band and keep up to date with announcements from the self-proclaimed Hooligans With Rhythm, by becoming their fan on ReverbNation.com or Facebook.  Yo  AND… now that you know the story of the band, here’s the moral: For a guaranteed great time grab some friends and a pint or few and check out CRAIC: Cleveland OH's Own, World's Greatest Traditional/Contemporary Irish, Folk, Bluegrass, Punk Rock Band in the Universe.
